In short
For a Scottsdale golf trip, stay in North Scottsdale, where TPC Scottsdale, Grayhawk and Troon North are all within about 20 to 25 minutes of each other: the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess sits next to TPC, and the Four Seasons is a few minutes from Troon North. Every course on this page is open to the public, and We-Ko-Pa and Troon North let you book up to 90 days ahead, so book your anchor rounds as soon as your dates are set. November to April is the main season, with the highest prices from January to March; avoid early February if you want the TPC Stadium Course, since it hosts the WM Phoenix Open from February 8 to 14, 2027.

Grayhawk does not publish its booking window; January 2027 times were already open on November 6, 2026, and mid March times were not.
-
Open to the public
Grayhawk Talon
Grayhawk's other course, designed by David Graham with Gary Panks, next to Raptor. Public, booked on the same site.
Same booking site, phone line and cart rules as Raptor. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess golf packages can be used here as well as at TPC Scottsdale.
How tee times work
All seven courses here are public, so you book them yourself online or by phone. We-Ko-Pa and Troon North open tee times up to 90 days ahead. Grayhawk does not publish its window, but its January times were already open in early November. TPC Scottsdale does not publish its public window either; Fairmont Scottsdale Princess guests get preferred TPC rates and tee times through the resort's golf concierge, and on the Golf Getaway package they can book up to 90 days before arrival. In winter the local tourism office suggests booking 60 to 90 days ahead, since tee times fill quickly. Troon North and Grayhawk use dynamic pricing, so the price you see depends on the day and the hour; We-Ko-Pa publishes fixed rates by season.
Closures to know about
Courses close in turn each fall to overseed, usually for two to four weeks between mid September and early November, then run cart path only for a while. In 2026 (first closed day, then reopening day): TPC Champions closed September 14 and reopened September 30; TPC Stadium closed September 28 and reopened October 18; Troon North Monument closed September 21 and reopened October 9; Troon North Pinnacle closed October 5 and reopened October 24; Grayhawk Talon closed September 28 and reopened October 12; Grayhawk Raptor closed October 12 and reopened October 30; We-Ko-Pa Cholla closed October 5 and reopened October 23; We-Ko-Pa Saguaro closed October 12 and reopened October 30. We-Ko-Pa also closed each course for about two weeks of summer aerification in July and early August 2026. The 2027 dates are not published yet. The TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course hosts the WM Phoenix Open from February 8 to 14, 2027 and closes to public play for tournament setup before that week (the Concert in the Coliseum is on February 6); TPC has not published the closure dates.
A sensible plan
Four nights in north Scottsdale works well: arrive and play the TPC Champions Course or Grayhawk in the afternoon, then the TPC Stadium Course early on day two, Troon North on day three and We-Ko-Pa on the last day, where you can play Saguaro and Cholla back to back. If you only land one Stadium Course time, book it first and fit the others around it.
Getting there
Fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX). TPC Scottsdale is about 23 miles and 35 minutes away in light traffic, Grayhawk and We-Ko-Pa about 35 to 40 minutes, and Troon North about 50. You will want a car or a driver for the whole trip, since the courses are spread out.
Practical notes
- Carts
- Grayhawk gives each tee time two carts and uses the 90 degree rule; Troon North wants carts back by 19:00. Expect cart path only for a few weeks after fall overseeding.
- Caddies
- Troon North includes a forecaddie for each foursome on Thursday to Saturday mornings in peak season (2026: January 18 to April 25, 08:00 to 11:00), with a suggested tip of 40 USD or more per player, and has no walking caddies. Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale can arrange forecaddies too. TPC Scottsdale's current forecaddie policy is not published on its site.
- Dress code
- We-Ko-Pa asks for collared or mock collared golf shirts, soft spikes and no denim. Check each club for its own rules.
- Fees
- Water surcharges are added on top of the green fee: 5% at Troon North and Grayhawk. We-Ko-Pa rates are plus 9% sales tax.
- Shuttle
- Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North runs a free car to Troon North Golf Club for guests, first come first served. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort fee includes a shuttle to TPC Scottsdale and Grayhawk.
- Stay rules
- Any home rented for less than 30 days in Scottsdale needs a city license, which you can check on the city's short-term rental website.
- Winter
- Winter highs are usually in the 60s and 70s F. Early morning frost delays can happen in winter at We-Ko-Pa, which posts course conditions on its X channel. Summer highs often top 105 F.

Scottsdale golf trip questions
Can anyone play TPC Scottsdale?
Yes. Both the Stadium and Champions courses are public, and you book them online or by phone on 480-585-4334. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess guests get preferred TPC rates and can book through the resort's golf concierge (Golf Getaway guests up to 90 days before arrival).
Where should I stay for a Scottsdale golf trip?
North Scottsdale puts you closest to most of the courses: the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess next to TPC, the hotels around Perimeter Center, Kierland, or the Four Seasons near Troon North. Old Town is livelier at night but about 20 to 25 minutes from TPC and Grayhawk.
How far ahead can I book tee times in Scottsdale?
We-Ko-Pa and Troon North open tee times up to 90 days ahead. TPC Scottsdale and Grayhawk do not publish their windows, but Fairmont guests can book TPC through the resort's golf concierge (Golf Getaway guests up to 90 days before arrival). For winter and March trips, book as soon as your window opens.
How much is a round of golf in Scottsdale in peak season?
It varies a lot by course and season. We-Ko-Pa publishes 329 USD for peak season 2027 (January 8 to April 25, 359 USD in Phoenix Open week) and 109 USD in midsummer, plus tax. Troon North, Grayhawk and TPC Scottsdale price each tee time by date and demand, so check their booking sites for your dates.
When is the best time for a golf trip to Scottsdale?
November to April has the best weather, with peak crowds and prices from January to March. April and May bring lower rates and warmer days, and summer is much cheaper but often tops 105 F, so play at dawn.
When are Scottsdale golf courses closed for overseeding?
Each course closes for two to four weeks between mid September and early November while winter grass is planted, then runs cart path only for a while. In 2026 the courses on this page reopened between late September and October 30.
