In short
The 2027 Genesis Scottish Open is at The Renaissance Club, between Gullane and North Berwick on the East Lothian coast, with the four rounds from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 July 2027 and tickets also sold for Wednesday 7 July. Stay in Gullane, Dirleton or North Berwick for a short drive to the free public car park used in 2026, or base yourself in Edinburgh and take the train to Longniddry (about 19 minutes), where a free courtesy bus met every train in 2026. Tickets are already on general sale from GBP 30, children aged 0 to 12 go free, and the weekend sold out in 2025, so buy weekend days early.

Getting in: parking, shuttles and gates
The 2027 plan is not out yet, so this is how it worked in 2026. Parking was free in the 'Muirfield fields' just east of Gullane, with drivers signed off the A1 at Haddington and through Drem, and there was no spectator parking at the club itself. Without a car, a free courtesy bus met every train at Longniddry (about 19 minutes from Edinburgh Waverley), and the 124 bus from Edinburgh or North Berwick stopped at Archerfield on the A198, about 10 minutes on foot from the gate. Gates opened at 07:00 from Wednesday to Friday and 08:00 at the weekend; bags were searched, there was no left luggage, the site was cashless, and phones were fine on silent while cameras were allowed only on the Wednesday Pro-Am.
- Public car park (2026)ParkingFree, in the fields just east of Gullane on the north side of the A198. Taxi and ride-hail drop-off was here too. Position on the map is approximate.

House rules
- Phones
- Allowed with limits
- Bags
- In 2026 bags and rucksacks were allowed but searched at entry, with no left luggage or bag drop. You could bring your own food and soft drinks in a small bag, but not picnic hampers or trolleys, alcohol or glass bottles. Folding chairs and pushchairs were allowed, dogs only if assistance dogs. Phones were allowed on all five days if kept on silent; cameras were allowed on the Wednesday Pro-Am only. The site was cashless. The 2027 rules are not out yet.
- Parking
- In 2026 the public car park was free, in the 'Muirfield fields' just east of Gullane on the north side of the A198, and drivers were signed from the A1 at Haddington via the Ballencrieff roundabout and the A1377 through Drem. There was no spectator parking at The Renaissance Club itself and taxi and ride-hail drop-off was at the public car park only. The 2027 plan is not out yet.
- Shuttle
- In 2026 a free courtesy bus met each train at Longniddry station (Edinburgh trains) and ran to the event; the DP World Tour said it stopped at the event entrance, East Lothian Council said at the public car park. Ticket holders were also pointed to the 124 service bus between Edinburgh and North Berwick, which calls at the Archerfield stop on the A198, about 10 minutes on foot from the gate. The 2027 plan is not out yet.
How to get tickets
Tickets for 2027 are on general sale through the DP World Tour ticket shop, with general admission from GBP 30, half price for 13 to 17 year olds and free Junior tickets for 0 to 12 year olds, which you still add to your order. Ticket+ (from GBP 110) adds a reserved raised viewing and seating area with a bar (on The Thistle in 2026; the 2027 spot is not published yet) and preferential parking, and the Thistle Club and Green on 18 are the hospitality options. The weekend sold out in 2025 and the ticket shop names no resale platform, so buy from the DP World Tour shop and be wary of other sellers.
Where to watch at the Scottish Open
Base yourself between The Thistle and the 18th, the two busiest spots on the closing stretch since the 2026 reroute.
-
Hole 15
The Thistle (15th)
The par 3 stadium hole now comes late in the round, so the noise builds through the afternoon. Grab a spot early at the weekend; in 2026 Ticket+ holders had seats here.
-
Hole 18
18th green
In 2026 a grandstand overlooked the final green, but it needed a separate grandstand pass, with seats unreserved after 17:30. Arrive well before the last groups on Sunday.
-
Range on Wednesday
Wednesday is the quietest day to watch the stars warm up by the clubhouse. In 2026 it was the Pro-Am day and the only day you could use a camera.

Scottish Open questions
When is the Scottish Open in 2027?
The four championship rounds of the Genesis Scottish Open run from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 July 2027 at The Renaissance Club, and the ticket shop also sells tickets for Wednesday 7 July. In 2026 the Wednesday was the practice and Pro-Am day.
Where should I stay for the Scottish Open?
Gullane, Dirleton and North Berwick are the closest bases, all within about 10 minutes' drive of the 2026 car park. Edinburgh has far more rooms and worked well in 2026 by train to Longniddry (about 19 minutes) and the free courtesy bus.
How much are Scottish Open tickets, and do kids go free?
General admission for 2027 starts at GBP 30. Junior tickets for ages 0 to 12 are free and youth tickets for 13 to 17 year olds are half price, but you need to add each child as a ticket type when you order.
Is there parking at the Scottish Open?
In 2026 the public car park was free, in the fields just east of Gullane on the A198, with no spectator parking at The Renaissance Club itself. The 2027 plan is due nearer the event.
Can I get to the Scottish Open by train?
Yes. The train from Edinburgh Waverley to Longniddry takes about 19 minutes on average, and in 2026 a free courtesy bus met each train and ran to the event. The 124 bus from Edinburgh (about 80 minutes) or North Berwick also stopped about 10 minutes on foot from the gate.
Can I go to the Scottish Open and The Open in the same trip?
Yes. The Scottish Open finishes on 11 July 2027 and The 155th Open is at St Andrews from 15 to 18 July 2027, so many fans spend the week in between in Scotland. See our separate Open page for where to stay in St Andrews.
